I have wanted to get my dog a couch of his own for some time now, but was reluctant to do so fearing he would not like it or use it. I am so glad that I finally made this purchase. It is so much easier for him to get on and off of and he really does enjoy it. I know this because he is always on it even more so than when he had his own people couch (and he was on that alot)! I also kept thinking and re-thinking about what size to get him, he is a chocolate lab, 5 years old and very over-weight...112 pounds to be exact. He measures 3 feet 11 inches from nose to tail and stands 2 foot 4 inches tall. i ended up buying a extra large couch and he has plenty of room to stretch out if he desires to do so, and he seems to rather enjoy using the bolsters as pillows! All in all it seems to be perfect for him so far, I haven't washed the cover yet so I can't comment on that. It doesn't seem like it will be that complicated to put back on. In a nut shell we both love it and are sorry that we waited so long to buy it!

I bought the large bed for my basset hound, not because he's huge but because he likes to stretch out. This bed is very thick and seems very durable. However, we had to add a comforter on top of it in order for him to sleep on it for long periods of time. Maybe he just likes the softer things in life because this bed is as hard as a rock; I tried to lay on it and I was uncomfortable. When I stand on it (5'5'', 150 lbs.), I don't even dent the thing!

I have only one thing to say --my dog got on the bed and wouldn't get off all day --tried to pull him off and he ran right back to HIS BED===thank you do much.

I've written a review about this bed before. Now that I've had it for 1.5 years, I have more to say. My dogs love this bed. I have 2 extra large beds - one for the living room and one for my bedroom. My 2 dogs (50 lbs each) share the beds easily. My biggest complaint is that I hate cleaning these. I really need to wash them at least once per week, but the covers are so hard to remove and put back on the foam part of the bed that I don't clean it nearly as much as I should. Additionally, one of the beds has a cover that is double-lined (this is the bed I purchased first). The other bed is only a single-lined fabric (this bed was purchased more recently). The foam from the bed with the single-lined fabric is starting to discolor from dirt making it's way through the cover. Although my dogs love these beds, I doubt I will purchase them again because of how difficult it is to remove and replace the cover for cleaning purposes. Maybe it is time for one of those elevated dog cots...

I HAVE A COUPLE OF GREAT DANES AND AM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A BED FOR THEM THAT IS NOT MINE! THIS IS LARGE AND THICK ENOUGH TO HOLD UP, ONLY THING THAT WOULD MAKE IT BETTER WOULD BE A WATER PROOF COVER UNDER THE FABRIC FOR PROTECTION.
