Description
With its fine design and rich cherry finish, the Bush Somerset Cherry 71 in. Computer Desk with Optional Hutch, File Cabinet, and Bookcase is a prime choice for any sophisticated office. This modern corner computer desk offers plenty of work space, ample drawer storage, and an optional hutch to keep office supplies organized and accessible. You can also add a lateral filing cabinet and bookcase to create an all-inclusive office setup.
Crafted for lasting beauty, the L-shaped desk has a durable wood construction and a cherry-finished scratch-resistant laminate surface. The desk's file drawer holds letter- and legal-size files, a dedicated vertical CPU storage compartment with rear wire access keeps your tower neatly concealed, and an accessory drawer holds office supplies within reach. The pullout keyboard tray and drawer pedestals can be mounted on the left or right side for configuration flexibility.
The optional hutch offers various shelves for binders and books, as well as two cabinets with frosted glass doors. The optional lateral filing cabinet has two interlocking drawers that reduce the likelihood of the cabinet tipping. They can hold letter-, legal-, and A4-size files. Full-extension, ball-bearing side glides ensure smooth and reliable drawer operation. The optional bookcase features five spacious shelves (three adjustable). The fact it came unassembled and in four separate HEAVY boxes which were left at the door and needed to be moved to a second floor home office would be enough to make any man ponder his sanity. But after 12 hours of a stairmaster workout and a dedication and drive to make my home office usable made the sometimes confusing assembly process well worth it! The furniture is very nice!

We purchased this for an average-sized home office. It is a typically well-made Bush product and the assembly instructions are easy to use. HOWEVER: be very, very cautious in considering this item. Before the hutch may be attached to the desk, the entire desk and return must be some distance away from the wall. The entire thing, including the L-return must then be moved back to the wall (after you lift a very heavy hutch), and it's immensely heavy and very hard to maneuver. It's so difficult my wife and I can't handle it and must box up the whole hutch parts complement and send it back. The carton is heavy and it will cost us a lot of money - lost for good - to ship back to the maker. Think three times before you acquire this, especially if it is to be in a carpeted space.

This was easy to assemble! The drawers do not line up properly, and the doors on the hutch drop, the screws were not all there. Easy fixes. It takes two to three people to line up the desk top, and some of the other parts.

I'm enjoying the desk so far. Looks like it will be quite sturdy and last a long time. Only problem I've got is that I misread something, and so the desk goes 6" further than I thought. Not the desk's fault though. I'd recommend this desk to friends

I received my desk and hutch on time in three huge boxes. The boxes were very heavy and one box was damaged, only one piece was affect by it, but it kept me from being able to put my deck together seeing how it was a support peice. I called the number on the booklet and a very nice lady led me through a procedure so they could send me the exact part to me as soon as possible. I appreciated that. I assembled what I could without that peice, some of the peice weren't labeled, ultimately though, based on the side and shape you can figure it out. There were only two parts that were slightly difficult to assemble, everything I was able to put together went smoothly. The desk as a whole is very sturdy and beautiful it blows my old desk complete out of the water.
