Description
A great anywhere basketball hoop, the 48-inch Eco-Composite Spalding Basketball Backboard Combo delivers plenty of performance at a value price. This hoop includes a rugged 48-inch-wide, fan-shaped backboard made of eco-friendly composite materials; a breakaway rim to hold up to years of play; and an all-weather nylon net. The backboard is mounted on a sturdy 1x1-inch steel frame. Backboard padding along the bottom edge of the board helps ensure safe play even when the intensity level rises. This basketball hoop will attach to any universal bracket- pole- or structure-mounted.

We've only had this hoop up for a week but so far so good. We have had some rain and the board still looks good. The boys played basketball and it seems to work just fine. Seems sturdy but of coarse it has only been a week. The bracket was another story. We do not recommend the bracket that we purchased along with this hoop. From Illinois

Some have complained about the construction of this backboard, but it is what I expected for the price. The instructions do warn against dunking and hanging from the rim. Great for me and my pre-teen daughters shooting hoops in the driveway. Still, I marked "poor construction" in the cons because the description claims a steel frame, but it's all plastic as far as I can see.

The hoop is spring loaded. But if you where to put weight on it you would crack the plastic before the hoop even gave way. Just don't dunk with this back board.
