There was no insulation as was advertised. Because of poor design, there is no way the roof could be opened if the hinge was installed as directed in the instructions. The stain smell was so strong that it could asphixyiate any dog. We had to pay $75 to return the dog house to Hayneedle. Of the two customer service reps we talked to about the problems, both insisted there was insulation included but neither had ever seen the dog house.

Put this on our front porch and put carpet inside. It holds our 60 lb hound dog and his two terrier buddies easily. Very nice design and made with heavy, sturdy wood. Was very easy and quick to put together. Heater was also easy to install. Would keep the doghouse a lot warmer if the plastic door was left on but our dog doesn't like it. All our neighbors say our dog's house is nicer than theirs!!! Love this purchase!!

House is nice, just as described. A little hard to put together but not impossible. Worst difficulty is that heater is separate and difficult to install. Most homeowners will not have a 1.124 inch drill needed to install the heater. Also, heater does not come with the fasteners needed to attach to the house. The add implies that the items are a package but obviously not since they ship separately and owner must find a way to make an opening large enough to thread the power cord. I won't recommend since most folks will be stymied by the need to drill the large hole.
