I use this product in combination with an eliptical trainer and walking. The noise is no more than expected. It is smooth and doesn't take up much room (sits right next to my eliptical in an area at the top of the stairs on 2nd floor). This is a perfect additional piece to my exercise equipment. There are several Youtube videos on correct posture and advice to be sure you have the correct technique before you head for the endurance (safety). I love it! Works out the whole body. Previous runner, but need low impact to protect the knees. I would definitely recommend this if it fits what you need in your exercise routine. (or the winters are rainy!)

The chain guide is tilted and rubs wrong, I bent it into line and it works well now.
The machine works well for a casual rowing machine.
