This is a filing cabinet that does not look like one! You get the benefit of an attractive, reasonably priced, and durable filing cabinet that looks great in your home. Assembly went smoothly, although it does take several hours. I think the key to assembly is to read the instructions through before you start, lay out the parts and hardware, and follow the instructions step by step. This cabinet is an example of the product being better than expected.

I am pretty experienced at furniture assembly and this was the most difficult thing I have ever put together. I had to work on it over two days because I had blisters from screwing in so many screws. I would recommend investing in a power drill before attempting assembly.

A little time consuming putting together but the product was wrapped and prepped excellently. All parts were well labeled and wrapped individually. A word of advise - Be careful not to over tighten locking bolts or other screws - causing the boards or veneer to split. Luckily the side this happened on for me was on the side that faces the wall in my office.

I ordered this to go into my office/guest room, wanting a nice sturdy piece of furniture that doubles as a file drawer. I am very pleased with it. Very heavy and solid. Nice black slightly distressed finish with a great stained top. It took my adult son 2.5 hrs to assemble and he is very strong and is experienced with tools etc. it took itime but all pieces were very well labeled and assembly drawing instructions easy to understand. . I highly recommend this.

We read the reviews and so read the instructions carefully. Took a while to aseemble as everyone else indicated but looks very nice in the room and is perfectly functional.
Will have to disassemble to move so be sure you have it where you want it when you put it together.

It looks like the picture and that is what I wanted. Assembly took over 2.5 hours with two people working on it. We had to replace 4 screws with longer ones. Didn't seem to hold together as well as should have. It is heavy and sturdy.
