Description
The 20x80 Military puts you at an effective distance of less than 100 yards from one mile-distant targets or other objects. Many spotters and observers are discovering these high power binoculars are easy to use, provide a better view, and offer superior comfort during extended use than spotting scopes. The 80mm objective lenses, combined with Steiner’s legendary optics deliver incredible low-light performance.

These binoculars were developed for military and border patrol applications and are military-spec tough: totally waterproof, shock resistant, and rubber armored. Tripod mount is included, but these models are light enough to be hand held. Depth of field is about 80 yards out to infinity once focused for your eyes.
About Steiner
From its humble, post-WWII beginnings, Steiner has become one of the largest manufacturers of high-quality optics. Optics pioneer Karl Steiner established Steiner Optik GmbH in 1947, offering products from small cameras to binoculars and special lenses. As the company grew, it increasingly focused its production on professional high-quality binoculars. Steiner innovations include rubber armoring, the first binoculars ever with an integrated compass, the first binocular with special optical coating to protect against harmful UV radiation, the pocket-size binocular, and the new Predator lens coating to increase contrast of animals against wooded backgrounds.
Today, Karl Steiner's son Carl continues to strengthen and develop the company's position as a world leader in binocular production, utilizing the highest level of technology and setting high standards for future products with all binocular manufacturers.

Comments about Steiner 20x80mm Military Binoculars:
I used these binoculars for viewing elk one mile away... was totally satisfied with their performance and clarity..side by side, I had my son's 15X56 swarovsky's...I do not plan on using my steiners for carrying around hunting, they are much larger and more bulky vs the swarovskys....they are very ez to look through and watch your viewing, without constantly seeing the double circles as I did with the swarovskys...both are excellent binoculars...for my use of just viewing, I will vote for the Steiners...hunting and carrying around a different story...they are quite large and bulky, yet light weight so they work for me for what I am using them for...A very good product and to me worth the money...
