The Swing Close Hallway Gate features a wider protective barrier for areas that are hard to secure. The common sense addition of an automatically closing gate prevents the common mistake of leaving the gate open. Your dog may whine at the gate, but your baby will be secure. It opens in both directions so adults can easily stay mobile while keeping young children secure. Optional gate extensions allow you to accommodate slightly larger doorways and stairways. bought this gate and it lasted for about 4 months..cannot last through a 4 yr old boy. he thought it would be fun to stand on the gate door and swing out and back in. he kept doing this without mom or dads approval for about a month till the metal hinge broke. love how sturdy the gate was and easy to install. at first you think it is not installing properly if you don't read the instructions before trying to set up. READ INSTRUCTIONS. so easy to open with one hand, way better than our first years gate that is a pain to open. it closes on its own so if you 'forget' or in a hurry, it does it for you. we just proped it open with a shoe or similar after the kids went to bed. i can easily swing a leg over to get across and i am 5'3". the only thing i dont like is there is not enough padding where the tensions are and left ringlets in our drywall after we moved it to another location.

THESE GATES ARE JUST THE VERY BEST YOU CAN GET. I BOUGHT 2. I LOVE THEM. I USE THEM TO GATE MY NEW PUPPY FROM MY OTHER 2 DOGS. THEY ARE JUST PERFECT.

This gate does exactly what I wanted it to do, block off my living room from my new pet, yet allow easy access in and out of my kitchen. I have a larger door opening and the extra extension was perfect. I also did not want to put up any hardware on my walls, so this model was again perfect because it uses tension to hold it in place! I recommend it highly
