Description
The Telescope 17 in. World Famouse Heavyweave Mesh Director Chair is a great alternative to the protected outdoor sling chair. The heavyweave mesh cover resists fading when placed in a protected outdoor setting and is much longer lasting than canvas or acrylic. Covers are available in a variety of brilliant colors to fit any decor. Please note, the frame is not outdoor rated so please do not leave unattended or unprotected to the elements. Constructed in the U.S.A. using the finest solid North American hardwood, the frame comes in four finishes: white, natural, black, or walnut stain. The hardware used is zinc plated. The frame arms are sanded by hand for comfort and smoothness, while the heavy duty legs provide maximum stability. Load tested to 300 lbs., the chair folds compactly for easy packing and storage.
Frame Finishes:
- White and Black are coated with 2-3 coats of enamel paint
- Natural varnish has 2 coats of clear commercial urethane finish
- Walnut stain has 1 coat of stain with 2 coats of commercial urethane varnish
Construction Details:
- All wood parts are precision milled, pressed together and nailed for maximum rigidity
- Extra heavy-duty, corrosion-resistent, zinc-plated steel braces
- Extra-strong leg braces are nailed securely into the legs
- Self-leveling plastic glides on the legs help to prevent marring of floors
- Screws make these glides easily replaceable
- Tapered, shaped legs are nailed securely into a beveled seat block with mortise and tenon style joinery
- The seating material slips into a specially designed groove and no tools are needed
- All frames are shaped and hand sanded in select, kiln-dried solid hardwoods
- All back covers have a non-sag feature, one size seat and back fits all directors chairs

Like the 30" Directors Chair, I use indoor/ourdoor furniture privately and for business. I found these chairs to be much less sturdier than the Telescope Directors Chairs I purchased in the 80's. The chairs seems to have been changed by design. They look different, and they don't feel as strong as they used to. They seemed like cheap Directors Chairs. I guess you get what you pay for. This was not the style I was looking for. You should take Telescope chairs off your order list.
