The Empire Kitchen Island boasts our largest work surface ever, with over 14.5 square feet of tabletop when leaves are fully extended. Full extension glides on both the leaves and the drawer allow for easy pull-out and return. Cabinet doors on both sides of the island provide even more convenient access to stored items. Locking casters make moving this large island a breeze, or allow for a stationary use.

Modern, nickel-plated hardware functions as drawer and leaf pulls and doubles as towel bars. Pull-out leaves are table height (30 inches) to allow for standard seating while preparing food. The lower-tiered leaves also allow for easier movement of ingredients into bowls or mixers. The interior cabinet shelf is adjustable, allowing for customization to fit your specific needs. This item is made from oil-finished natural yellow birch hardwood, which is indigenous to the Northeastern U.S. and ranges in color from blond to a darker walnut shade; the natural variation in color allows this kitchen island to coordinate with your existing decor. Catskill Craftsmen's manufactured items are made from naturally self-sustaining, non-endangered North American hardwoods, primarily birch and hard rock maple. All sawdust, shavings, and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process are converted into wood pellet fuel used to heat homes. This alternative heating source creates less ash and lower emissions than some other fuels. By operating their own wood pellet mill, Catskill Craftsmen reduces their wood waste to zero. As natural resources become even more valuable, Catskill Craftsmen will continue to advance proper stewardship of the pristine Catskill Mountain region.
