Sunbrella fabric is water-repellant. If kept dry, it will not support the growth of mildew as natural fiber will. Depending on depth of color, Sunbrella fabrics provide up to 98% UV protection. Whites and lighter colored fabrics provide less protection than darker fabrics. This protective factor is inherent to the product and will not diminish through use or exposure to the sun.

I have had this hammock for a couple years and use it nearly every day spring to fall and it still looks nearly new. I have found that it catches the wind like a sail so I use two bungee cords to keep it from twirling up and I don't have to put it away every day. The bungee cords also stabilize it so my 4 year old daughter doesn't face plant the cement when I'm not watching. The day I got it I undid the rope from the hammock and applied three coats of marine spar varnish to the spreader bars. They still look shiny with a beautiful oak finish even a couple years later. The fabric pattern is just like the photo and it goes well with our backyard décor. I really can't tell if the fabric has faded since it still looks the same to me. The only problem I have is the rope going through the rough spreader bar holes is starting to get abraded caused by the jolting wind at our house.

This hammock is lovely. The craftsmanship is great. The Sunbrella fabric is very nice, not a bit scratchy for polyester. Has a 2 year warranty from the maker too. I love it !!! Made in the USA
