The Ultimate Butcher Block is made from oil-finished natural yellow birch hardwood, which is indigenous to the Northeastern U.S. and ranges in color from blond to a darker walnut shade; the natural variation in color allows this butcher block to coordinate with your existing decor. End-grain wood is laid together side by side to create a smooth surface with a cross-hatched appearance. It is designed to cushion your knives, preventing wear and tear on the blade, and minimizing cuts and scratches in the surface of the board. The Ultimate Butcher Block is reversible and has cut-out finger slots on two sides to make it easily portable. Its natural oil finish makes it durable and beautiful.

All sawdust, shavings, and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process are converted into wood pellet fuel used to heat homes. This alternative heating source creates less ash and lower emissions than some other fuels. By operating their own wood pellet mill, Catskill Craftsmen reduces their wood waste to zero. As natural resources become even more valuable, Catskill Craftsmen will continue to advance proper stewardship of the pristine Catskill Mountain region.
