P.T. Barnum would be proud! I was looking for a cube system to use for lost&found bins at work. This seemed to be the right size and with 6 cubes, I could use 4 for the intended purpose and 2 in another location. The product description states that it consists of "Backer boards, Adhesive" and the the material is "Reclaimed/Recycled". Since it said 'backer boards', I'm thinking wood particle board. Good, since I want to mount them on the wall. Guess I should have turned up the dial on the red-flag meter and asked 'Reclaimed/Recycled what?' Well, the backer board are cardBOARD, and the whole thing is recycled paper! It is finished in a glossy card stock. The 'adhesive' is thin 2 sided tape. The pins used to align the parts are pencil sized cardboard tube...and you can imagine the fit with the close tolerances that paper provides. You can't mount it to anything, so it has to sit on the floor, but there is nothing to keep the cubes stacked and aligned. At[$] for a cardboard box full of cardboard, 2 things are apparent. 1) Someone is making a killing; 2) I'm in the wrong business. My conclusion boys and girls is that this is another case of marketing putting yet more lipstick on a pig, and unless you want something for your 2 year old to play with....run away!
