I have purchased and returned 2 of these barometers. The barometer rises and falls as the weather changes, but it never rises and falls as far as the official reading for our area. If you want accuracy this is not the instrument you want. If you just want to know if the barometer is rising or falling you will be just fine with this barometer.
The hygrometer was fine on the first instrument I purchased, however this one is off (low) by 7%.

When the barometric pressure rises and falls the reading on this barometer also rises and falls. The problem is, it never rises or falls as far as the official barometric reading for this area rises and falls.
Given the price of this barometer, I expected a more accurate instrument.
Conclusion: If you just want to know if you have a rising or falling barometer, this instrument is fine. However, if you want an barometer that also gives accurate barometric pressure readings, this barometer is not the one you want.

The instruments are beautiful but the thermometer was not accurate. For the two days that I had it it was about 10 degrees low. I'm sure that could have been remedied, however, as I know from experience that Weems and Plath are of the highest quality instruments. My Trident series was still working perfectly after 17 years but had become tarnished.
My experience with WeatherInstruments.com, however, was SIX stars! They were helpful and friendly and the communication was almost immediate. Joe, in the customer service dept, was also very helpful and patient as I returned the initial order for the same instruments in different sizes. I have told several of my friends at my marina about Weatherinstruments.com and Weems and Plath.
