This lovely, antique-inspired piece is as pretty as it is convenient thanks to rich materials and unexpected detail.

This bowed-front nightstand is crafted with durable mahogany solids and veneers, finished in a rich, warm Mahogany shade. The three drawer fronts boast blonde Prima Vera wood inlays that surround ornately carved, silver-tone swinging-bail handles. Fluted pilasters on each side add even more visual interest, and a felt-lined top drawer - accented by an Old World decorative keyhole escutcheon - provides a place to stash jewelry when you remove it at the end of the day. A pullout tray positioned above the drawers provides a handy surface for your newspaper and morning coffee.

Every drawer is constructed with a classic mortis-and-tenon method for superior strength and durability. Solid wood sides and backs are joined with French dovetails at the front and English dovetails at the back. Veneer bottoms on the lower drawers help protect spare linens, as does dust-proofing on the bottom drawers. Center-guided drawer glides move smoothly, and positive drawer stops keep closing secure and quiet. All drawers are 14.5 inches deep.

The sturdy tabletop sweeps out at each side, allowing plenty of room for an essential reading lamp. Assemble the nightstand in a snap with common household tools and the included hardware.
