This media stand is good given the price. It arrived assembled and in one piece-- without any damage. It does the job and looks good. If you're looking for something rustic this is a good piece for you.

Similar to other reviews, my TV stand arrived in a shoddy shipping box. There was a defect on the front of the stand (due to poor shipping/wrapping), so I placed a return. The second stand will arrive only 3 business days after the original, so I am very pleased with the customer service and returns. The product is excellent - great color, and it looks perfect in our living room - just poor shipping standards. My new TV stand will arrive in a couple days, so I am anxious to see the condition it arrives in. I will post another review once it arrives...

The item itself has a few flaws. There were several assembly errors and the door hinges were flimsy and came broken. After some wood glue and different screws, I was able to repair the door hinges. Also, the holes for the shelves are not deep enough to allow a shelf in one section to be placed in the same spot as the other section, you have to put it either higher or lower because the dividers are too thin to allow the shelf clips to go in the same hole from either side.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt, but the first TV stand came broken. It was severely damaged beyond any kind of repair. Also, all of the screws were not screwed in all the way, and as a result, several screws were missing when I got it. The box it came in was falling apart. It was clearly not stored well in the warehouse it came from. I called the compnay, they sent another one out right away. The customer service was good. When I got the second one, the hinges on the doors were damaged, but repairable. There were two serious dents in the top of the stand, but towards the back. After using one of those brown furniture pens, the damage is minimally visible. The second box was damaged like the first, but not as bad. I think the local warehouse this was shipped from in my area does a poor job of maintaining the merchandise. The lower quality of the item can't hold up to the abuse. The item looks good, but you are paying for the level of quality. There is a reason items that look like this one on other websites are three times as expensive, they are solid wood and well constructed! For the price, it looks like the more expensive version...if it doesn't come damaged!

I previously reviewed this product before having an opportunity to further review. Now I say AVOID AVOID AVOID! I was drawn to this piece because it was the most cost-effective "rustic" looking tv console I could find online. I also wouldn't go broke purchasing the 2 matching side tables which the design of my room required. The box arrived torn and tattered - it was impossible to take the piece out of the box without ripping the box apart - only because it was already so destroyed. In the top, middle of the unit was a GIANT gash in the wood. I was devastated. I called customer service and spoke to a rep who said I would have to return it in order to get an exchange or a refund. I was interested in an EXCHANGE however I had no box in which to pack this 80lb beast because it arrived in pieces. I asked she please ship the replacement piece so that I can use THAT box to ship back the damaged unit. This is something OTHER retailers would do. She kept repeating that I would have to ship back the damaged piece before she could ship me the exchange, I kept repeating that I couldn't because I didn't have a box. So she basically told me to get a box. And then I asked - ok, so I have to get a box, pack it properly in this long, oddly shaped box, and then bring it to a fedex drop-off location. She said yes. INCONVENIENT!!! I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor was even less helpful. Only worse is that the piece is actually on back-order so even if I won my argument that I did not have a proper box to ship a tv console in so please ship the exchange first, they wouldn't be able to until March, then I'd be outside of the exchange/return time frame for the piece. Lose-lose. The supervisor gave me a discount off the unit. But I feel like there's a huge eye soar sitting in my living room and the discount will not cover the cost of professional repair.
To make matters worse, the side tables were impossible to put together. The pieces didn't fit together at all. Though I may be a woman and not too capable of finding, lifting and shipping an 80lb entertainment console, I am quite accustomed to assembling simple furniture - and have in the past from Hayneedle as well as other retailers. These tables were just a nightmare. My future father-in-law is extremely handy and he had his entire tool box out putting the tables together. ALL OF HIS TOOLS! The table came with 8 nuts and that had to be fastened, but nothing fit together, everything was crooked, it was a mess. Thanks to my father-in-law I have nice tables, that hopefully will get some money when I sell this nightmare on C-List or a like site.
WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT IN THIS PRODUCT AND HAYNEEDLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
