I purchased 3 barstools--2 have a bumpy material, almost corduroy in texture while the 3rd one is smooth. The bumpy texture ones feel like they have a residue on them. I had purchased 3 of these barstools several years ago and really like them so thought I would get some more. The new stools are about 1 inch shorter than the older ones.
This was not exactly what I wanted or expected...but the older ones are really nice.

We needed a bar stool that wouldn't take up too much room, and we got exactly what we were looking for. The adjustable height allows these stools to be scooted under our bar top. They aren't super-comfortable, as in I wouldn't sit on them for hours, but they are perfect for breakfast or snack time. Also, since they also double as chairs, these will work great for our "game night" gatherings. The neutral color was hard to find. Also, there is a rubber rim around the base, so hardwood floor scratches aren't a worry.

Seat is narrow for all but the slimmest of us and seat positioning feels slightly forward tilted, but worst is lift doesn't hold when I sit - I weigh 175, so might be ok for lighter people.
