Care
Wipe away spilled liquids immediately with a soft, damp cloth, always wiping with the wood grain. Dust frequently with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. For a more thorough cleaning, wipe with a soft cloth dipped in a mild soap and water solution. Dry completely with a clean, lint-free cloth, wiping with the wood grain, and follow with a furniture polish for added shine. Repeat this cleaning process every six months to remove accumulated dust and wax build-up.
Your fine wood furniture should not be exposed to extreme heat or humidity; do not place it in direct sunlight or in a damp area. Avoid placing your furniture in front of or over heating or air conditioning vents. Avoid dragging items across the surface of your wood furniture; instead, lift them from the surface and replace them in the desired location. Use a protective pad if using your furniture as a writing surface, particularly when using a ballpoint pen. If your furniture receives small scratches, you can touch them up using a scratch remover or touch-up pen from your furniture dealer or paint store.
Hot objects, as well as chemicals in plastic and rubber items, may soften or discolor the finish on your fine wood furniture. Place a piece of felt, leather, or cork under items made from these materials to avoid damage, and rotate these items occasionally so they don't sit in the same spot for extended periods of time.
