Basketball Hoops

My son is 15 and was ready to upgrade from his old board....he can't believe how much better he can hit his shots because of its' stability. We almost went with the 44" back board and we're glad we opted to upgrade to the 50". The newer base is a great improvement over the old design and the bounce-back is a nice bonus. Son is 6'1" and had a hard time adjusting the height to 10 ft by himself---it's a two man job to hold it up and place the pin in---but he won't need to adjust the height very often if at all. Our neighbor has the Lifetime board and I think the Spaulding is better quality. Husband is a mechanic had has all the tools and brains but it will be a project for most.....took them about 3 hrs. ----but no real complaints from them.

This is the best deal you can get on an in-ground, square post system. Following the advice from one of the other reviews, I abandoned the plastic ground sleeve and directly embedded the bottom post in concrete. It takes some work to get the posts together but otherwise the assembly is fairly easy. Digging the massive hole and mixing concrete are by far the most labor-intensive portions of the process. I spent about 3 hours digging and pouring concrete on day 1, then about 1.5 hours assembling on day 2. The final product looks professional and is sturdy. The infinite height adjustment is a nice feature. I saw another comment from someone who was disappointed because their kids bent the post. I suspect that one was abused by some big kids. If you need a system that will support 250 lb kids dunking and hanging on it, then spend $1500 and get a professional one. Otherwise, this one can withstand some moderate abuse without a problem.

We've only had this hoop up for a week but so far so good. We have had some rain and the board still looks good. The boys played basketball and it seems to work just fine. Seems sturdy but of coarse it has only been a week. The bracket was another story. We do not recommend the bracket that we purchased along with this hoop. From Illinois
