That's what POLYWOOD furniture is all about. Well, that and recycling milk jugs to create an amazingly resilient lumber. This is attractive, durable, and soothing outdoor furniture with an environmental conscience. This is POLYWOOD.
Weather Anything with POLYWOOD®
What started in 1990 as an experiment among a couple high-school friends in a garage in Northern Indiana, is now a leading developer in plastic lumber casual outdoor furniture. Realizing the high-performance characteristics of plastics in outdoor applications, the folks from POLYWOOD began extruding recycled plastic milk jugs into plastic lumber. The result was a material impervious to all types of weather conditions including rain, snow, salt water, sun, and ice.
POLYWOOD lumber is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), the raw material which is taken from post-consumer bottle waste such as milk and detergent bottles or other HDPE post-industrial material. The finished product is exceptionally resistant to corrosive substances, oils, insects, and other environmental stresses. It doesn't absorb moisture and will never rot, splinter, or crack.
It could be assumed that a material this tough couldn't possibly be attractive. On the contrary, POLYWOOD manufactures a wide array of products, each with attractive details and lines and comfortable designs. From a classic Adirondack chair for your East Coast lawn to a traditional rocker for your Southern wrap-around porch, POLYWOOD has it. And don't forget dining sets, benches, and lounge sets. Styles range from classic to contemporary, and colors range from simple White and outdoorsy Forest Green to vibrant Aruba and Sunset Red
