Eligible Returns


You may return most eligible items – for whatever reason – up to 30 days from the date of delivery.


Items ineligible for return include but are not limited to:

Opened mattresses

Opened bedding

Used or washed items

Items that have been altered or modified in any way

Items that state they are ineligible for return on the product page

Gift Certificates

However, if an item is damaged or defective, these exceptions do not apply and we will work with you to arrange a return.


Look up your order and select the Return/Exchange option to see the return eligibility for each item. From there you can start the return process and obtain a return merchandise authorization (RMA) to print and include in your return package.


Holiday Returns Policy: Orders placed between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31 may be returned until Jan. 31.


Return Shipping Cost

Depending on your reason for returning an item, you might be responsible for return shipping costs. Shipping is not refundable on items returned due to customer preference or change of mind. For items returned due to customer preference or change of mind, return shipping fees will be deducted from your refund. Return shipping fees are item and location-specific and will vary. When processing your return, the return shipping cost will reflect under Label Fee if applicable for your return. If you are responsible for return shipping costs and would prefer to use your own carrier to return an item, select "Self-return" and you will be provided with the appropriate return address for your item. Write your RMA number and your return address on the outside of the box and send your return by a trackable shipping method. Hayneedle will not deduct the return shipping fee from your refund if using your own shipping method to return, but any shipping and/or packing costs incurred by the customer are the customer's responsibility and will not be reimbursed by Hayneedle.


Damaged or Defective:

Although we do our best to ensure each item arrives in excellent condition, occasionally damage or defect may occur. Make sure you open & inspect your package within 30 days of delivery. Before assembling your item or discarding packaging, please inspect your package and parts for damage, defect, missing pieces, or other issues. If there are any issues with the item, do not begin assembly. Hayneedle is unable to reimburse for costs or time associated with assembling or disassembling an item. Hayneedle does not guarantee the availability of replacement parts for any item. If your item is damaged or defective in any way, please process a return in our return center and select the appropriate return reason. If you would like a replacement, simply place a new order on Hayneedle at your earliest convenience.


Packaging Your Return:

Items should be returned in their original packaging as much as possible. We recommend saving your packaging until you are sure you will not need to return as Hayneedle does not provide packaging for returns. If you have discarded your packaging, you will need to locate alternative packaging to return your item. Include your printed RMA slip and/or contact information, order number, and reason for return inside the package. Ensure old labels are removed from the box.


Freight Returns: If your order was delivered via freight, it will be returned via one of our freight carriers as well. After processing your return, the freight carrier will contact you within 3-5 days to arrange a return date and time window. The item will need to be packaged the same or similar to how it arrived in order for the carrier to accept the return.



Once we receive your return, we will credit the amount of the item to the original method of payment. Credits take approximately 4 business days to reflect back to your original method of payment, but this time frame may vary based on your financial institution. If the item was a gift or purchased using a gift card, we will issue a store credit.


Hayneedle is unable to refund an alternate card or method of payment. If you no longer have the card that you paid with, the refund will be returned to your financial institution. Your financial institution will be responsible for getting your refund to you. For more questions on receiving a refund to a closed account or card, please contact your financial institution.



If you are returning your item for any reason, simply process the return in our return center. If you would like a replacement or alternate item, you can then place a new order on at your earliest convenience.
