Starting in 1808, blacksmith Alexander Miller began forging hoes, axes, nails, and other tools in his store, The Old Stone Shop located in Vermont. Merging with Batcheller & Sons and 16 other forging companies to form the American Fork & Hoe Company in 1902, it quickly grew to become the largest garden and farming tool company in the United States. Dedicated to providing novel twists on classic tools and designs, True Temper redesigns and rebuilds to create innovate tools which live up to the True Temper Pledge.
