Description

A & L Furniture New Hope Cedar Adirondack Chair with Optional Pillow. This story begins with the most sustainably managed forests in the world. Western red cedar planks are carefully selected for this horizontally slatted update on the classic Adirondack chair. Durable red cedar wood is naturally resistant to rot, decay, and insects in addition to being renewable, recyclable, and biodegradable. Contoured for lumbar comfort, this chair also features wide armrests. It is handcrafted in the USA and offered in a dazzling range of finish options. A head pillow with solution-dyed acrylic fabric is included and comes in your choice of designer colors. This product is proudly Made in the USA by Amish craftsmen.

The New Hope Designer Line: Reinterpreting an American Classic.  Few pieces of American furniture are as revered or well recognized as the classic Adirondack chair. For more than 100 years, they have been enjoyed on the lawns of posh vacation homes as well as the porches of simple country cabins. Designer Jonathan Nelson has subtly reworked the traditional designs to create a new classic, the New Hope Chair, which is as comfortable to sit in as it is beautiful to look at. Creating a more streamline design, reducing the bulk and placing the backboards horizontally on a curve frame to provide lumbar support, Nelson has truly developed an improved successor and a new, modern classic. He recently added to the comfort by designing the New Hope Footstool. The New Hope Chair was honored with a 2015 IDA International design award and in the tradition of American furniture manufacturing, is being made by hand in central Pennsylvania.
