Can you believe that only a few years ago the only options we had for lighting our backyards were oil-filled tiki torches and now we have the Alpine Solar LED Lantern? We've come a long way, so it's time to celebrate, and your guests will find their way around your porch or patio with the help of a flickering LED light inside each lantern. Solar cells recharge the internal batteries, and a simple shepherd's crook-style support gives it the perfect place to hang your new favorite outdoor accessory.

Q: I bought 4 Alpine Solar Lanters. Two never lit up. Would change batteries but how do you open the top? Threw away boxes and instructions before I realized two won't work no matter where I put them in the sun.

A: The round top that contains the solar panel pops off the light cage. Turn the top upside down there should be 3 to 4 screws that need to be unscrewed. Take the unscrewed part off to expose the batteries.
