Q: Can the covering be left up all year round including snowy conditions

A: I've had mine for over a year, and other than being soiled with pollutants and some mildew on the shaded surfaces, it is none the worse for it. It came thru the heavy winds of recent storms just fine. At first, I put weights on the metal framework to make sure it didn't blow away, but it handled the wind just fine and I no longer take special storm precautions. About your question, I live in Upstate SC where snow is minimal. I would not expect the structure to be able to withstand a heavy snow load. The 3/4" square tubing wall is fairly thin, and the angle of the structure is very low, which tells me that it might collapse with a snow load. It might handle a couple of inches, but I would take it down or plan to keep the snow knocked off if snow will be deeper or will be wet. If I couldn't do this all winter, I woud expect to find it collapsed one day. So if you have it erected where there's lots if snow, I would recommend removing the cover. When you do that, youwill be exposing the framework to wetness, where the internal latching parts will quickly rust. So match-mark the mating frame pieces with a Sharpie to make it easy to re-erect, and disassemble the frame, too, if you decide to remove the cover.Sent: Tuesday, October 16, 5:22 PM

A: We think it's about 7 ft. Sorry, we took it down due to the hurricane here in NC, so don't have exact measurements now.
