Description

The classic look of the wooden Camden Isle Oxford Platform Bed easily makes this a signature piece for any bedroom. Made of MDF (medium density fiberboard) wood in your choice of available finish, this platform bed elevates the style of any room. There is no box spring required, as the mattress can be placed on top of the 13-slat support system featured in the platform bed. The bed features hidden hardware and nine support legs, which can hold up to 800 pounds. Some assembly is required. Choose an available size.

A note about wood composite or engineered wood: Often referred to as MDF, which stands for medium-density fiberboard, this type of wood composite is made of compressed wood fibers and has several benefits, including affordability, consistency, and resistance to warping or rotting over time.

Q: Where can one order the matching nightstands as on the picture?
Submitted 2 months ago by JC - Lakeville MN
Hayneedle customer support
A: Unfortunately, the night stands are not available on our website.
Q: With a 10 inch mattress, what is the height from floor to top of mattress?
Submitted 2 years ago by Anonymous
Hayneedle customer support
A: It is about 6 inches from floor to the top of the slats.
Q: How much weight can the slats support?
Submitted 2 years ago by Anonymous
Open Reply - Community Answer
A: Each slat can hold 61.54 lbs. The whole bed can hold 800 lbs.
Q: Is the back of the headboard side facing the wall finished?
Submitted 2 years ago by Anonymous
Open Reply - Community Answer
A: The wood itself is finished, but as the legs screw into the headboard, this connection would be visible from behind and give an unfinished appearance.
Q: Concerned about MDF construction in a bed. Is it stronger than solid wood?

A: The side rails are wood and the headboard and footboard are a combination I believe to have the inset panel. The slats are also solid wood. So for the most part, the bed is wood.
