Q: Can the cast stone birdbath be left outside in New York City in temp. down to 10 degrees F. without suffering winter weather damage? Should it be protected?

A: The birdbath should be brought in during the winter if possible. If this is not possible, the birdbath should be covered, but they should place an old towel or blanket inside the bowl to prevent the cover from filling with snow and ice as the expansion of the ice can still cause damage while the bir
