A: As with any outdoor composting, it will attract rodents if meat and/or bones are placed in the composter. The composter is elevated on a stand and rotates easily, so while difficult for rodents to get into them, it is not impossible. The plastic is quite thick, but sharp rodent teeth will get thou
Q: The instructions say to keep it moist, but when I add water it comes out through drainage holes. I am not quite understanding why there are drainage holes.

A: The compost should be moist not wet. The drainage holes are necessary because the compost releases water as it breaks down. The compost will be naturally moist. The best check is the squeeze test. If you squeeze it and it stays together in a little ball then it's just the right amount of moist. If you squeeze the compost and water falls between your fingers it's too wet. If you squeeze the compost and it falls apart then it's too dry. You should only have to add water if the compost gets too dry and crumbles apart.
