Al Moen came up with the idea for a single-handle mixing faucet in 1937, after receiving a scalding burst of hot water from an old-fashioned two-handle faucet. After countless revisions of his initial design, and plenty of legwork to find an interested manufacturer, Moen, along with Ravenna Metal Products of Seattle, Washington, sold his first 250 single-handle faucets in 1947. Since then, Moen's company has become a household name, earning international recognition as a leading producer of kitchen and bathroom faucets and fixtures.
Moen's products have received numerous awards for their innovative and convenient designs. The ioDIGITAL Vertical Spa and ioDIGITAL Shower won Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) Platinum awards in 2010 - the highest level of award at the event. Moen also received the WaterSense Manufacturer Partner of the Year award for 2010, and is committed to remaining a top innovator and inventor of quality kitchen and bath fixtures.
