Q: I'm double checking with you, is this planter really only 5inches tall?

A: 4 3/4 inches.  I use mine under larger planters with legs for water collection.  I also drilled some holes in a few of them, pet small stones in the bottom, and used them for small plants.  I'd do annuals only with them.
