Wood used for Weathercraft Furniture has been chemically pressure treated and then completely dried. We use a Sherwin-Williams commercial latex-based paints. This paint called Superdeck-Duckback which has a matte finish and has been specifically engineered for use on pressure treated wood. This paint also has natural block sealers in the paint to help retard residue or small knots from leaching through... although when exposed to the exterior elements, you may still see sporadic knot shadows.
