It truly is the most wonderful time of the year! Especially if you are greeted by a winter wonderland scene when you walk in your door.
Choosing the Tree
Start with a fabulously full tree like this flocked one. The best part? The lights are already strung perfectly so no time wasted untangling. The flocking adds great texture so you don’t even need ornaments to look festive. If you want to add to the natural appeal, use yard clippings in between the branches for more of an organic look. Finish off with red berry garlands wrapped around the tree. In this room we used red as the accent color and carried it throughout the room.
Update with Holiday Accents
Swap out your existing pillows with a few decorative holiday pillows for an instant festive accent. In this room we mixed golden sequin accent pillows with red piped ones for added texture and color.
Create Focal Points
Make a focal point of a picture window by draping matching pre-lit garlands from above as well as on the sill. Hang a large glittered star from the center to complete the view. Need a quick centerpiece? Wrap red berry garlands into a wreath shape and place a candle in a mason jar filled with epsom salt “snow” to form a simple and classic tablescape. Use a prelit, battery-powered wreath festooned with red berries to add cheer where no electrical outlets are near.
Add Charming Details
Finally be sure to add some whimsy into your scene. These oversized Santa boots are just the thing. Fill with brightly painted branches, holiday balls, or evergreen clippings and place strategically near the tree.
