As we make our way into 2019, we’re all wondering which home trends will go and, more importantly, which will stay (and make our wallets say thank you!). Check out which trends have major staying power and will still be making the rounds on blogs, Instagram, and Pinterest.
Minimalism
We’re pretty sure the minimalism trend is here to stay, thankfully. We can’t get enough clean, monochromatic, Scandinavian-inspired living rooms and bedrooms. Refresh for 2019 with even more natural elements and hand-woven accents.
Wellness
Self-care has been brought to the forefront in recent years, reminding everyone to slow down and take time for one’s self. This can mean anything from taking yoga classes to relaxing at home, cooking yourself a beautiful meal or just creating a space you love. However you interpret wellness and self-care, we’re for it.
Gallery Walls
Group together a few or many and even add in some 3-dimensional elements such as plates, chargers, wall sculptures, woven wall hangings, and more. The gallery wall is iconic and looks great in any space. Curious on how to do it? Check out our guide to creating a gallery wall. You can get as creative as you want with this look.
Plants
No matter how your garden grows, adding greenery indoors — not just on the porch and patio — is a great way to add color and lift your spirits (yes, even if the plants are artificial). Artificial plants are ideal for adding the look and feel of plants. If your thumb isn’t so green or you’re too busy to care for the real thing, this is a perfect option and they look just as beautiful.
Black & White Graphic Prints
Eye-catching and class, black and white prints run the gamut from planters to decorative pillows. This meant-for-each-other duo adds instant coolness to your look whether you love modern, transitional, or boho styles.
Velvet
So soft, so luxurious, and so NOT just for winter. Velvet is a perennial material that ups the style ante on anything from decor to furniture. Your personal style doesn’t have to lean towards glam to love velvet, either. Any style from farmhouse to contemporary can appreciate and utilize velvet accents.
Mixing Prints
Layering colors, prints, and textures is fun, fresh, and stylish. We’ve loved this trend forever and think it’ll always be a style rule you can break (just like in fashion). Start small with pillows or go big with wallpaper, rugs, and printed seating. There isn’t a magic way to make it work (though variations in sizes is usually a good jumping-off point), but if you hold patterns side-by-side, you’re certain to find a combo you love. It’s always best to just pick what you like and make it work.
